Gemotions

The late afternoon sun warmed Elara’s face as she sipped her Earl Grey. The wicker chair creaked companionably as she settled deeper, the scent of lavender from the garden drifting on the breeze. Another chapter of the book was calling her. She’d been neglecting it lately, preoccupied with the gallery showing, but now, finally, things had calmed. The success of the opening was still a pleasant buzz in her memory.

Her phone buzzed, a tiny vibration against the smooth wood of the table. A text from Liam. “Saw something wild. You need to see this.” Elara frowned, a slight crease forming between her brows. Liam was usually quite reserved. She tapped the screen, a picture loading of someone's arm, her artwork, inked on their skin. A shock went through her, but it quickly melted into an odd sense of... well, it was certainly something new.

She felt a gentle amusement as she zoomed in, tracing the delicate lines of her own design. The tattoo artist had done a great job. She finished her tea and decided to investigate.
